So we finally reached our destination.
after a short stopover in Dar Es Salaam we managed to catch a flight to Kigoma, unfortunately not knowing this was going to involve a series of near death experiences. We later learned that precision air apparently are training a new female pilot which was the cause "the small turbulance".
We got picked up at the "airport" (a bit bigger than Gjogur airport in Iceland)
by people from the hospital and had a beautiful drive towards the sunset through little villages and banana plantages ( Bit scary for those of us that have slight issue with 4WDs and dirtroads...).
The hospital is suprisingly well kept, we even got our own house that we share with a german nurse. She's very nice.
Now we are trying to find out how things work around here, finding our places in the daily rutine and learning the most essential words in swahili.
that's all for now folks!!!
the giraffe and the hippo.

Hi girls, good to hear that you have reached your destination and that you are still alive and well!
I think about you guys alot and hope that my nice thoughts travel all the way to Africa c",)
I hope that your first days at the hospital have been nice and I know that the people there are loving you!!
Take care and be careful not to get as odd as your German room-mate... although I think you guys will be pretty "German-looking" when you come home again (i.e. hairy)!!! hehehe
Love, Gunna.
ps. Copenhagen is kind of empty without you!!
Hæ elsku Fjóla mín! Æðislegt að heyra að þið eruð komnar heilu og höldnu. Mér finnst þið algjörar hetjur, get varla lýst því. Gangi ykkur rosalega vel og ég hlakka til að fylgjast með ykkur hérna á blogginu. Guð geymi ykkur. Þín Anna Kristín
